Not very long ago I discovered this really cute store called Tatsat tucked away in a corner in the highly commercial market of Hauz Khas (New Delhi). Ever since then I have visited and re-visited this store with hopes of going there only to feast my eyes with the trendiest lifestyle accessories. But alas, I have never walked out without burning a serious hole in my pocket.
This quaint little store has an equally interesting story behind it - originally a grocery store, the owner family ventured into fair trade lifestlye products' retail about three years ago with the aim to transform lives of many who live in poverty and work hard to build trade and ultimately earn only a meager livelihood. Several challenges and rough patches through, the store seems to be finally piquing the interest of quite a few in the city. Their ecelectic product collection and the warm customer experience are perhaps the biggest contributing factors to this upswing in interest among those who have now become their die hard loyalists (including me :))
And now this World Fair Trade Day I am taking my loyalty a step forward by keeping my products (the pots and plants) at the Tatsat store while they celebrate 'Fair Mart' on May 9th to 10th.
So incase you are in New Delhi this weekend, do drop by for some cool summer discounts and freebies at the 'Tatsat - A Socially Conscious Store'. There are some fabulous discounts on their exclusive fair-trade collection of ceramics, glassware, silk bags and a wide range of personal accessories. And of course you can pick up a couple of the very lovely Green Somethings pots 'n' plants too!
Visit Tatsat at E- 50, Shop no.3, Hauz Khas Main Market, New Delhi and check out their blog to know more at tatsat297.blogspot.com
